Squirrel away your packs with torches and bear spray to keep in the camping tent after dark. Torches can always serve in order to help find things and point you in the best path when roaming during the night. The bear spray, however, is a purchase that you generally and ideally will never use but is something well worth having for that added piece of mind when you hear rustling in the woods.
It might seem to be unusual, but being noisy will keep most of the furry creatures out of sight. With that said, if you have close-by neighbors, don’t trigger a full out commotion. The sounds of the campfire crackling, voices, and other man-made noises like auto engines typically do the trick in frightening wild animals.
As long as you may love and trust your pets to stay nearby, it’s not worth the risk of allowing them to stroll off by themselves. An option to always holding the other end of the chain is buying a spiral stake to place in the soil to keep the pup nearby while granting her or him a little flexibility to stroll.
When it concerns snakes, be especially careful if you move logs or brush as many snakes get to moving when their environment is tampered with. If serpents are a high worry of yours in a certain area, consider wearing heavy-duty boots and gloves when moving such things.
